Happily Ever After

I was super excited to go to a wonderful wedding this weekend. Little Aiden was my wonderful date!
It was in this awesome old barn that was shaped like an octagon. There were clear christmas lights all over the interior, jars for glasses and homemade paper straws. Simply amazing. I was happy to have taken some cool photos and Aiden and I got to walk around the countryside exploring. Truly a blessed evening.

This was of my favorite pictures I took.. so sweet.

Delicious treats! The coconut cupcakes were literally the best ones I've ever had!

Adorable wedding favors!

Towards the end we were sitting outside looking over the vast countryside and I said "Aiden, I love you so much, I'm so glad you came with me." And he said "I'm so glad too, Mommy you're my favorite person ever."

perfect day..

It's the Little Things..

Took the kiddos out for a hike last night. Beautiful weather, nature and my favorite people in the world made for a Fantastic evening!
Hiking always make me me a little nervous, especially with my youngest Owen (who has absolutely no balance) I was near a heart attack as he insisted on throwing rocks into the lake and was teetering on the edge of the rocks as I held on to him.. But overall they had fun and so did I.

We found this caterpillar and Aiden really wanted to take him home. I told him the caterpillars mom would miss him so much so he reluctantly left him in the forest..

I plan on spending lots of time with the boys this summer out there, as Aiden called it, our own adventure spot.

It just proves that you don't need a lot of money to have a wonderful life. Appreciate those around you and appreciate what you have.
Have a great day everyone!

The case of the camera woes..

Well I cannot afford to buy a new lens for my camera, even though I would love one, desperately. So I decided to take a little extra money and buy a couple lens adapters to my standard Ef 18-55mm lens. I bought a telephoto lens and a wide angle/fish eye. I put the wide angle on and it was awesome, then I quickly screwed on my telephoto lens snapped a couple of Fabulous pics I might add, with it. Then went to remove it and it was stuck. Stuck is kind of an understatement. Pretty much would not budge! In a panic a took it to my local camera shop. The guy tried twice to unscrew it, and said he couldn't risk breaking both the lenses. So that evening (through a lot of tears) I googled and googled solutions to cross threading your lens. Most everyone said wrap it up tight in saran wrap, rubber band it and pop it in the freezer for a bit. Sounds dangerous, yeah I thought so too. But being as desperate as I was the next morning I wrapped it up and popped it in the freezer for 30 minutes. Let it sit on the counter for 10 and then tried it again with a washcloth. And surprise the lens converter came off!! Hooray! So two days of crying and being depressed one of my most prized possessions wouldn't worked was fixed!
So the moral of this story, DON'T cross thread the lens!! Take your time, and handle with care! ;) And also I guess all those things you read on google really do work! So thank you photographic community!!

Graduation

Yesterday I graduated. I was so incredibly sad thinking about how I am not going to be spending my days with my wonderful school friends. Another thought on my mind was about my next goals (yes I was graduating and already thinking about going back to school) So today I'm thinking about how can I set those plans in motion but I am also going to take time to RELAX! :)

The Beginning..

Well for awhile now I have wanted to create a blog about my life, kids, work and my passions. What better of a time to do so then the day before I graduate! I graduate tomorrow with a Degree in Graphic Communications Technology. Graphic Design was something I wanted to do for a long time! I started out as a preschool teacher, with an Early Childhood Education Degree.  I became obsessed with the Mailbox Magazine, any child care provider knows what I am talking about. I started submitting ideas that were to my surprise accepted. So after Aiden was born I applied to be a full on freelance author. This was great when they accepted and I was super excited about doing it in my spare time. But a lot of things I would illustrate they would give to their in house Graphic Designer and I thought, I could do that. So there I was after being a job for 8 years and I decided, hey I'm not getting any younger, so I quit my job and went back to school full time. Once I actually learned Graphic Design it has taken on a whole new life for me. I could Not be happier with the choices that I made and the direction my life is going in. And now I'm graduating!! :)  I have my small business BirdsDream Design to now concentrate and focus on and hopefully make into a booming business. So I always say to people, "Follow your Dreams" and I fully believe that because only you can make them come true..
