Well I cannot afford to buy a new lens for my camera, even though I would love one, desperately. So I decided to take a little extra money and buy a couple lens adapters to my standard Ef 18-55mm lens. I bought a telephoto lens and a wide angle/fish eye. I put the wide angle on and it was awesome, then I quickly screwed on my telephoto lens snapped a couple of Fabulous pics I might add, with it. Then went to remove it and it was stuck. Stuck is kind of an understatement. Pretty much would not budge! In a panic a took it to my local camera shop. The guy tried twice to unscrew it, and said he couldn't risk breaking both the lenses. So that evening (through a lot of tears) I googled and googled solutions to cross threading your lens. Most everyone said wrap it up tight in saran wrap, rubber band it and pop it in the freezer for a bit. Sounds dangerous, yeah I thought so too. But being as desperate as I was the next morning I wrapped it up and popped it in the freezer for 30 minutes. Let it sit on the counter for 10 and then tried it again with a washcloth. And surprise the lens converter came off!! Hooray! So two days of crying and being depressed one of my most prized possessions wouldn't worked was fixed!
So the moral of this story, DON'T cross thread the lens!! Take your time, and handle with care! ;) And also I guess all those things you read on google really do work! So thank you photographic community!!
